Jack was a mentor and friend. I have used many of his life lessons as I raised my children and helped to instill values within others. Jack\\\'s smile and glinting eyes allowed him to convey even the toughest of messages in a gentle loving style. God love him. Jack remains a legend in the pharmaceutical industry. Many of us who served with him continue to tell Abelisms when we get together. We are all grateful for his friendship. As I sat in my car following the funeral this morning watching the Marine color guard carry his remains to the hearse I was listening to the Michigan Marching Band perform the Star Spangled Banner. Leave it to Jack to go out in style. Thanks to his family, Mary, Terri, JR, Tom, John, and Charlie for sharing this wonderful man with all of us.

Sergeant Major Jack Abel was a very positive influence on my life. I had the privilege of serving with him in the Marine Reserve unit in Toledo (B-1-24). By example, he taught me a great deal about life, being a better person and how to treat others. Well done, good and faithful servant. Tony Bachman Major USMC (ret)

Mr Abel used to work with my dad, Bob Vanderkelen. When I was 8 yrs old, I had my appendix removed. Mr Abel sent me my very first bouquet while I was in the hospital. I have never forgotten him or it. I am sorry for your loss, and wish you peace.
